Welcome To The Steamin' Billy Brewing Company

Barry Lount and Bill Allingham, founded the Steamin Billy Brewing Co. in 1995 to brew beers for The Cow & Plough public house in Oadby, Leicester.

The two directors realised a shortage of real ale outlets in Leicester and set about to fill this gap in the market. The Steamin Billy Brewing Co. currently operates 5 pubs in Leicestershire.

We produce a core of 3 ales as well as seasonal guests.

Our first pub The Cow and Plough and our flagship, were we can guarantee you will always receive always a friendly welcome offers up to 10 real ales on handpull, excellent locally sourced seasonal food and live jazz every Wednesday lunchtime. We can also accommodate Wedding Receptions and Christmas Parties in our large heated marquee.

Our second outlet Time Bar not fitting the normal Steamin Billy formula offers cocktails and business lunches and one of the city’s best party venues for your corporate functions, birthdays and weddings.

Our third outlet The Paget is a bustling ale venue for students and locals in the traditional Victorian boozer style located in a residential area of Loughborough with 6 ales on handpull.

Our 4th outlet The Western similar to The Paget caters well for De Montfort University students and locals with a roaring log fire and upstairs function room available for parties with 6 real ales on handpull.

Our fifth outlet The Steam Trumpet in Thornton is a modern village pub and eating house close to Thornton reservoir and specialises in locally sourced foods and of course Thornton trout.
